A HIGH PROFILE PROJECT
At Karasu Designs, we love projects that help improve the strength and livelihoods of our community. So, when we were approached to create a sister website for the International Education Association of Australia to educate the importance of the international community in Australia, we gladly accepted the opportunity. They needed a new website to help Australians understand the value international students bring to our great country. We believe in multiculturalism and diversity is one of Australia’s greatest strengths. If our website expertise can help that cause, we are definitely onboard.
MAKE A CHORE ENGAGING FOR ALL USERS
While IEAA had a great idea in their mind, they only had a static PDF as a reference for us to work with. The website presented a unique challenge because we needed to make a website that was clear and informative for visitors coming in from around the world. We also needed to fit a lot of technical information on the site in an engaging way that wouldn’t scare off visitors. The organisation also only had a few limited, low-resolution image assets available for us to work with.
HOW WE OVERCAME THE CHALLENGES
We broke down the lengthy text sections into smaller bite-sized chunks using colour blocking techniques. This helped open up the page while also improving the website’s flow and legibility. We paired the smaller text blocks with animated graphic icons, imagery, texts, and graphs to add more visual excitement and help highlight specific points of interest.
