We were approached by winemakers Once & Well to design and develop a visually pleasing website. Their new site needed to encapsulate their product and brand identity with a focus on telling their story from their beginnings to the present. They wanted to use and update their existing brand identity and photography while making a modern website with a great user experience.

The challenge

AN URGENT NEW WEBSITE

Freya and her team wanted a great website with user experience best practices – but they needed the website to be up and running in 3 weeks to be ready for an upcoming wine show. This meant we had to figure out and map the user needs, goals of the business, wireframe and design the site, code the site, test, debug and launch…everything in 3 short weeks.

Our approach

HOW WE OVERCAME THE CHALLENGES

We experimented with which website fonts, colours and illustrations best complimented the existing brand guidelines. We decided on a soft, subtle colour palette that most reflected Freya’s innovative and nurturing personality. We also brought in a youthful, fresh vibe to the layouts and font choices to help the brand resonate with its ideal audience. 

The site was designed to show off and make their impressive photography the hero of the page. We complimented the imagery and illustrations with light snippets of storytelling copywriting used carefully to support and narrate Freya’s story.
